Gîte La Maisonnée

A mountain stopover gite in the Hautes Pyrénées

La Maisonnée, a Mountain Gite on the Route de Luz-Ardiden, nestled at the heart of a small village of 110 inhabitants, Sazos near Luz St Sauveur, at an altitude of 830 m, through which the GR10 hiking trail runs.

Gite La Maisonnée is a “large home” whose doors are open to anyone wishing to stay for a night, a weekend, a week or longer, alone, with the family, with friends or a large group.

The gite offers all the charm of a former sheepfold with its pretty exposed stonework and the traditional Pyrenean house dating back to 1891, renovated in keeping with a cosy mountain spirit. The gite boasts a warm and friendly atmosphere to enjoy around a generous table which showcases an authentic style of regional cuisine of trout, hearty soups and tarts. The comfortable rooms, the warmth of the fireplace or the sun on the terrace are sure to appeal to you all year round.

The Gite is also ideally located for skiing on the slopes of the resort of Luz-Ardiden or for setting off to discover the mythical passes which have made the renown of the Pyrenees such as Tourmalet and the equally famous Pic du Midi de Bigorre accessible from Barèges, or the Troumouse, Estaubé and Gavarnie cirques which feature on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

La Maisonnée welcomes hikers, skiers, cyclists, motorcyclists and those who have come to enjoy the spa or the local fishing all year round. Whether you are into sports or prefer the gentle way of life, here the new owners, Anne and Christophe, do all they can to help you make the most of your stay.

Welcome to La Maisonnée !!
